Infosys Q1 sees gains in banking services, BPO

Infosys on Tuesday announced a $90m account, its biggest so far. This is an old account which has scaled to the current size. Infy officials declined to divulge the name of the client, which market sources said was Telstra.

At the Q1 FY06 results press conference here, company COO, S Gopalakrishnan, said that Infosys now has 14 clients in $50m plus category, up from 10 year ago. Infosys is also said to be close to winning a large multi-million, multiple year deal, its biggest so far, from ABN Amro. Company officials besides stating that negotiations with the client were on, refused to comment on the size of the deal or its expected closure.
