Infosys airlifts staff to safety

Hurricane Rita, which is rushing towards Texas, has made Infosys in faraway Bangalore to go into high alert. Infosys flew in ahead of Rita and evacuated its employees in Houston to safer places.

Even as Rita sped past the Gulf Coast, most of Houston received the evacuation alert and this clogged the roads. As a result, airlifting its employees was one option that Infy had which ensured their safety.

The company arranged a chartered jet to airlift 86 employees and their families to safety. A core group at Infosys has constantly been working round-the-clock to manage the 'operation evacuation'.
