Infosys gets ICAI awards

Infosys Technologies, Siemens Ltd. and Tata Chemicals were today awarded the ICAI Awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 2003-04. Infosys was adjudged the best among entries received from various non-financial public and private sector enterprises and was awarded the silver shield for excellence in financial reporting while Siemens and Tata Chemicals received a copper plaque.

Infosys to have its own 'hotel'

Bumpy rides on non-existent roads, endless traffic jams and scarcity of hotel rooms are prompting IT czars to go in for self-help: on-the-campus accommodation, like Wipro has and Infosys is going in for.

Infosys is setting up a inhouse 500-room hotel-like complex for its clients and other visitors coming into Bangalore. Called Infosys Residence, the five-storeyed Rs 37.5-crore project is coming up on 275,000 sq ft area in its Electronics City campus.

Beating market expectations, software bellwether Infosys Technologies Ltd, India’s second-largest software services exporter reported a 52 per cent jump in quarterly net profit on strong outsourcing demand. The company has raised its full-year earnings forecast.

Infosys to begin operations in R'sthan

Infosys is likely to begin operations in Rajasthan soon, the first state outside southern India where the IT major has ventured.

Indicating this in New Delhi on Tuesday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhare Raje said talks were on with the IT company and that her state was now working on getting all the necessary infrastructure ready for this purpose.

Infosys Techies take up relief works in Nagapattinam

Several groups of young software engineers from Bangalore and Chennai have arrived at various parts of Nagapattinam district to carry out relief operations.

These groups, comprising professionals, both men and women, from companies like Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, AdventNet, Xerago, arrived on Friday night. They have brought with them generous contributions of their fellow employees to help those affected in the district, the worst-affected in Tamil Nadu.
