Infosys Q3 results on Jan. 12

NASDAQ listed Infosys Technologies Ltd will announce its third quarter results on January 12.

Infosys has informed BSE that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company will be held on January 12, 2005 to consider the audited financial results as per Indian GAAP for the third quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2004.

The board will also discuss audited consolidated financial results of the company and its subsidiaries as per Indian GAAP for the third quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2004 as well as the unaudited financial results as per US GAAP for the third quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2004.

For the second quarter ended September, Infosys posted 49% jump in net profits at Rs 447.37 crore and had upped its revenue guidance for this fiscal after posting.

In Q2, it had posted a 52 per cent growth in revenues to Rs 1,749.33 crore.

Tsunami: Infosys contributes Rs 5 cr to relief fund

IT major Infosys Technologies announced on Tuesday that it was contributing Rs 5 crore (Rs 50 million) to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to assist the victims of tsunami that ravaged South and South East Asia early last Sunday.


Infosys Takes Outsourcing To Next Level

India's Infosys Technologies (INFY) is riding the crest of the offshore outsourcing wave all the way to Wall Street, with plans to transfer 16 million shares of its stock to the Nasdaq exchange early next year.

Founded in 1981, Infosys helped pioneer business process outsourcing.

The company offers services to build, maintain, test and host business software. It also provides systems integration and consulting services.

This year Infosys launched a new U.S.-based consulting team in Fremont, Calif. That unit, dubbed Infosys Consulting, will rely on low-cost staff in India to process and analyze data while higher priced consultants in the U.S. are still sleeping.

Rajasthan identifying land for Infosys

Rajasthan is identifying land for tech major Infosys which wants to set up a Rs.10 billion ($23 million) IT park.

"If it comes through, we expect an investment of around Rs.1,000 crores (Rs.10 billion) by the company here," an official source said.

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has identified two different spots on the city's outskirts for Infosys. The JDA has informed the Bureau of Industrial Promotion (BIP) about the sites.

PM to inaugrate Infosys' Mysore campus:

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the new Infosys Technologies campus in Mysore on Feb 12.

Disclosing this here, Infosys chairman and chief mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy said the Mysore campus, spread over 300 acres of land, was the company's largest facility in the country.

"The Mysore campus houses the world's largest corporate training centre, our leadership institute and a software development centre. The Prime Minister has consented to inaugurate it on Feb 12," he said Thursday after meeting Karnataka Chief Minister Dharam Singh.

Infy presages margins under pressure

Infosys Technologies may not sustain its profit margins owing to pricing pressures, appreciating rupee and wage pressures, according to its filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

During the financial year 2003, the company began to incur substantially higher selling and marketing expenses to increase brand awareness.


In fiscal 2003 and 2004, its net income was 25.4 per cent and 25.9 per cent of total revenues compared with 30.1per cent of total revenues in fiscal 2002.

Malaysian PM visits Infosys campus:

Visiting Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmed Badawi visited the Infosys campus in Bangalore on Thursday and evinced keen interest in furthering IT ties with India.

Badawi, who is on a two day visit to Karnataka, planted a sapling inside the Infosys campus.

Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani said Badawi's was quite impressive during his stay on the campus.

Infosys' transportation software for Australian State

Infosys Australia, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Infosys Technologies Ltd, claimed on Wednesday it has delivered a software to help the Victorian state government manage its public transport services better.

Infosys bags Global MAKE award

Infosys Technologies said on Wednesday it has won the prestigious Global MAKE (Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises) award, for the year 2004.
